Paediatric First Aid
This course is designed to provide training in First Aid for infants and children. This course will provide successful candidates with a basic knowledge of First Aid for infants and children.
Who Should Attend:
Parents and others who undertake the care of infants and children.
Objectives – On completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Describe and demonstrate Basic First Aid
- Be aware of the responsibilities of a First Aider
- Understand and demonstrate essential life saving skills

- Responsibilities of a First Aider
- CPR for children and Infants
- How to react in an emergency situation
- Child and Infant Choking
- Bleeding first aid
- Dealing with unconscious Children and Infants
- Febrile Seizures, Epilepsy, Diabetes and Asthma
- Meningitis and Poisoning
- Fractures and soft tissue injuries
- Burns first aid

Certification:
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance. Refresher course is recommended every 2 years.
